Located on 82 acres, Palm Island is one of the most desired real estate areas in all of Miami-Dade County and for good reason. Located in Biscayne Bay just south of Hibiscus Island, Palm Island offers excellent, luxurious homes, great landscaping, and incredible views of the bay which is why so many celebrities have chosen it for their home.
Palm Island is only accessible by land via the MacArthur Causeway and it offers the rare combination of seclusion and accessibility. This means that you can enjoy your privacy and be close to the things that you want all in the same place.
Palm Island was created by the dredging operations that made the MacArthur Causeway. Purchased by the Biscayne Bay Islands Company, both Palm and Hibiscus Islands were started in 1919 and completed by the summer of 1921. When the islands were completed, the Palm Island Club was founded on the northern end next to the bridge that led to Hibiscus Island. For the next decade, the area was known for its illegal drinking and gambling until the end of Prohibition when legal nightclubs were established.
Several nightclubs dotted the area, including the Bouche’s Villa Venice which became the first to occupy Palm Island. Soon, the area became known as the Latin Quarter which famously showcased some of the most popular celebrities of the 20th century. Since then, Palm Island was transformed into a beautiful residential area that now attracts the rich and famous from around the world.
There are several reasons why Palm Island has become so popular, starting with its fabulous location. You are both close to the things you need, yet you are also on an island living in secluded comfort. Of course, being on a beautiful island enjoying warm, tropical weather the year-round is usually reason enough, but it is not the only amenity to enjoy.
You are also just minutes away from the downtown Miami area and the many things that it offers. This includes the Brickell City Centre located in the financial district of Brickell that also makes Palm Island the perfect place to live.
It is not just one, but a combination of several different reasons why Palm Island is the perfect place for you and your family to live. Great public schools, excellent amenities, and an ideal location for you to reach most of the city in just minutes, Palm Island is the right place.
